REAL THAW 2023
The Portuguese Air Force carries out the annual exercise Real Thaw 2023 (RT23) between February 27th and March 10th, at Air Base No. 11, in Beja.The Portuguese Air Force is strongly committed to creating an operational environment where participants can conduct a high-level tactical exercise to maximize integration, interoperability, and learning, continuing to prepare and qualify their forces for full mission accomplishment.
This multidisciplinary exercise aims to enhance joint and combined training in order to provide participants with a wide range of tactical missions, with the intention of sharing knowledge, increasing integration, promoting innovation and strengthening ties between NATO partners.

Objectivos
GOALS
The RT23 makes it possible to assess and certify the Air Force's operational capabilities, and to train with NATO allies.
This exercise aims to prepare the national military of the Portuguese Air Force, Navy and Army and of the participating countries to act in joint and combined operations, enhancing interoperability between all. RT23 offers participants a unique opportunity to plan and execute missions with the aim of integrating and synchronizing different domains to solve a tactical problem.
This scenario is only possible due to the spirit of resilience and commitment of the Air Force's military and civilian personnel, who continue to carry out their mission with rigor and quality.

During RT23, a Spotters Day will be held on March 8, aimed at all photography lovers and military aviation enthusiasts over 18 years old.
