On November 7th, the 3rd Nursing Conference took place at the Aerospace Studies Center, located at the Portuguese Air Force Academy, as part of the celebrations for the 73rd Anniversary of the Air Force, bringing together around 150 participants.
Throughout the event, topics such as the air transport of patients, the challenges of aeromedical evacuation, and innovation and simulation in clinical practice were discussed.
The event also included a scientific poster competition, which concluded with the award for Best Poster going to Ensign Beatriz Adagas, and an Honorable Mention awarded to Lieutenant Pedro Lebre.
Organized jointly by the Portuguese Air Force and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica – INEM), the 3rd Nursing Conference was chaired by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force (VCEMFA), Lieutenant General António Nascimento, and was also attended by the President of INEM, Luís Cabral, three parachute nurses, and other distinguished guests.
The VCEMFA described the event as “a sign of recognition of the importance of the work carried out daily through the Air Force Health Directorate, particularly by the nursing teams who honorably serve in our branch, without whom health support to our personnel and the fulfillment of our missions, in all their dimensions, would not be possible.”
