The Air Museum (MUSAR) participated in the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), under the theme ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities’, which took place between 11 and 17 November in Dubai.

As a member of the ICOM Arms & Military Committee, MUSAR gave a presentation on ‘The importance and the future of the Air Museum, when Portugal is celebrating 50 years of democracy and facing changing community perceptions’.

The event was also an opportunity for MUSAR to publicise its work and learn about best practices used by similar museums and others around the world.

At the committee's General Assembly, it was also decided that the 2026 edition of the ICOM Arms & Military Annual Meeting will be held in Portugal, organised by MUSAR.
