Air Assault Mission in HotBlade 2023

Yesterday, June 12th, during the day, an Air Assault mission was carried out in Hot Blade 2023 (HB23). This mission consists of infiltrating troops into the terrain using rotary-wing aircraft.

The main objective of this type of mission is to destroy enemy forces or capture and maintain the perimeter of an area that has not been fully secured. Helicopters are essential to support the progression of troops on the ground, and in many cases they can increase their capabilities.

This mission involved a UH-60, from Slovakia, which provided protection to the forces on the ground (Top Cover), an AS532, from Switzerland, and an MI-171, from the Czech Republic, which inserted troops into the field and removed soldiers from the zone of operations after the mission was over.

Military personnel from the Army and the Austrian TACP were also involved in the mission.

This training is an asset to ensure interoperability between multinational forces, a common goal for all in HotBlade 2023, carried out within the framework of the European Defense Agency's helicopter exercise program.
