The Opening Ceremony of ETAP-T 2023 took place yesterday, July 2nd, at Air Base 11, Beja, where the aircraft involved in this exercise will be operating.

Presiding over the ceremony, where the flags of the 13 nations participating in the exercise were hoisted, was the Commander of Air Base 11, Colonel Carlos Lourenço, who addressed the participants praising the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences when, due to the international scenario, it is perceived that unity and mutual help are increasingly important. He ended by wishing everyone a good exercise and that everyone “enjoy the conditions, tools and hospitality of Portugal”.

Organized by the Air Force, the multinational exercise ETAP-T 2023 is a cargo transport aircraft exercise within the scope of the European Tactical Airlift Center (ETAC).

During the exercise, suitable scenarios are developed for each type of mission, according to the characteristics and requirements of each aircraft, with a view to preparing the crews of the tactical transport squadrons, ensuring that the participating forces are ready to carry out the tasks assigned to them. in any theater of operations within the European alliance's areas of operations.
