Squadron 552 – “Zangões” and Squadron 751 – “Pumas” carried out a Convoy Escort mission in collaboration with TACP as part of NATO Tiger Meet 2025.

In this mission, a Portuguese EH-101 Merlin and AW119 Koala, together with a French NH90, escorted a group of land vehicles (Convoy Escort), providing the rotary-wing aircraft with advanced reconnaissance capabilities of the convoy route, the ability to identify nearby threats, and protection during their movement.

The importance of training for this type of Convoy Escort mission is linked to the need to move people or materials of great value or with a high security classification.

In addition to the rotary-wing aircraft, an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon also provided support to the mission through Close Air Support.
