As part of ETAP-C, joint and combined training is carried out between multinational flight squadrons and Army Paratroopers. Within this framework, a mission involving a static-line parachute jump was conducted — a type of jump in which the parachute is automatically deployed immediately after the paratrooper exits the aircraft.
Usually performed at altitudes between 300 and 400 meters, this method ensures the immediate opening of the parachute, eliminating the need for any manual intervention.
This type of drop is used for the rapid and safe insertion of troops into the operational area, allowing for the deployment of many personnel within a short period of time. It is also a fundamental technique in parachute training, serving as the foundation for the development of more advanced capabilities, such as high-altitude free-fall jumps.
The ETAP-C runs until October 31 at Air Base No. 11 in Beja, where more than 400 military personnel from seven different nations are training with the goal of enhancing airlift operational capability and promoting greater interoperability among participating countries.
